Steps
Your daily movement builds the stem — the backbone of the plant, taller and thicker the longer you keep at it. Today's walking lights up the newest leaves at the tips.
Each kind of health data shapes a different part of the plant. So a week of long walks and early nights grows something visibly different from a week of hard sessions and short sleep — not better or worse, just yours.
Steps
Your daily movement builds the stem — the backbone of the plant, taller and thicker the longer you keep at it. Today's walking lights up the newest leaves at the tips.
Flights climbed
The most literal rule in Lumaki: stairs and hills make the tree taller. Height only — a climber's plant reaches higher rather than growing wider.
Sleep
Sleep grows the roots, invisible and holding everything else up. Deeper sleep than you usually get thickens them; longer nights send them further out under the soil.
Workouts
Effort pushes growth in new directions. What you trained sets each new branch's angle and the shape of its leaves — yoga bends, running sharpens, lifting thickens — and how hard and how long sets its reach.
Active energy
The energy you spend shows up in the leaves: larger, and a deeper, more saturated green the more of yourself you put into the day.
Any session
Every session you show up for opens a flower: a workout, a few mindful minutes, or a standout walking day. The kind of session decides what kind of flower. Each bloom stays open for six days.
Rhythm over weeks
Five active days in seven and a fruit sets. It hangs for five weeks and then drops. Not a score to beat — just what a plant does once it has been looked after for a while.
Heart-rate variability
With an Apple Watch, the air itself responds: the breeze gathers into slow gusts when your heart-rate variability is above your own usual, and goes still when it isn't. Your breathing sets its rate. Your plant is beautiful without a Watch.
None of this is labelled inside the app. There's no legend, no “stem = steps”, no progress bar per branch. You open Lumaki, you look at your plant, and one word tells you what it's doing today — one of the words above.
The same growth, the same shape, drawn four different ways. A style changes how your plant is rendered and nothing about how it grows, so you can change your mind as often as you like.
Your plant keeps its shape through all of them — a style is how it's drawn, never what it grew into. Lumaki is free; the painted three come with Pro.
Light, dark, or your system's choice — and a fourth option, Time of day, where the glasshouse around your plant shifts from dawn through dusk and the scene dims into the evening, as it's doing on this page right now.
A home-screen and a lock-screen widget with your plant and one figure, quietly refreshed each morning. No battery drain: Lumaki updates when you open it, not all day in the background.
One in the morning with how your plant grew overnight, one at the end of the week with what the week grew. Both optional, both written on your device — Lumaki has no server to push you anything from.
Export a still of your plant, or a timelapse of it growing — the past week, the last 90 days, or all of it. Your health numbers never appear in what you share: only your plant, its name, and the day it's on.
Your last 30 days are already in Apple Health. Carry them in and arrive with a grown plant, or start from a seed today and grow from nothing. Both are real plants. Neither is a preview.
The same plant on both, kept in step through your own iCloud — no account to make, nothing to sign into. The health data itself stays on each device.
However you come to Lumaki, the plant meets you where you are.
No numbers to chase and no rings to close. Just a living picture of how you're really doing, at whatever pace you're actually going.
Come back because you're curious what your plant looks like today. Rest days count, a hard week costs you nothing, and nothing here ever tells you off.
Send a still or a timelapse to whoever you like. There's no feed inside Lumaki, no leaderboard and nobody to keep up with — and your health numbers stay behind on your phone.
